CCS is the only legal organization in Oregon dedicated solely to protecting children in divorce and custody cases.
We are lawyers for children caught in the middle of family conflict. We also help parents and professionals who work with these children to support them during the custody process. We accomplish our mission through three programs:
* Free legal representation to children
* Training seminars for judges, lawyers and other professionals
* Community education to help raise awareness about the impact of family conflict on
children
Children or adults who were involved in contentious divorces during their childhood are more likely to have debilitating physical, social and psychological issues. Driven by an extensive feeling of loss and abandonment, these children are two to three times more likely to manifest issues including;
* Juvenile deliqunency
* Suicide
* Under-education
* Teen pregnancy
* Personal divorces
CCS provides a new organizational model to protect children impacted by family conflict. Through a multi tiered approach comprised of legal representation, professional training and community education, CCS protects the rights and needs of children during a divorce and strives to develop a supportive and knowledgeable community that better understands the long- term effects of high conflict families on children.
