Legal Representation

CCS provides full time, salaried, attorneys to represent children in domestic relations cases. We receive our caseload directly by appointment from the Family Court Judges in the counties which serve. The services of our attorneys are free to our child clients, their families and the courts.

When a judge is faced with a contentious divorce or custody proceeding and feels that the voice of the child is not being heard, the court can appoint a CCS attorney a legal advocate for the child. These direct legal services increase children's access to justice in the domestic relations arena, where they are so often only dealt with as pawns in a two-sided struggle.

Our primary focus is serving high conflict families who cannot provide legal representation for children or themselves; however, CCS also provides legal representation to children whose parents have attorneys.
