Executive Director and Senior Attorney
Ms. Abraham earned her Bachelor of Arts in Administration of Justice from Portland State University in 1980 and her Juris Doctorate from the Lewis and Clark School of Law in 1984. She was admitted to the Oregon State Bar in 1985.
From 1984-2001 Ms. Abraham practiced as a Deputy District Attorney in the Multnomah County District Attorney's office. For the last twelve years of her tenure with the District Attorney's Office, Ms. Abraham worked exclusively in the Juvenile Section. There she gained the reputation as a professional who would look to build consensus, while working in harmony with Judges, defense attorneys and child advocates, to find resolutions to cases prior to trial. Due to her commitment and expertise in the area of juvenile law, she has been a guest speaker for numerous training sessions, including for the Department of Human Services.
Most recently, Ms. Abraham was the Program Coordinator and Program Attorney for CASA for Children, Inc, in Portland, Oregon. CASA, or Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children, is a national organization whose mission is to advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children. In her dual capacity, Ms. Abraham was able to deal with multiple facets of the non-profit organization, providing legal services to staff and volunteers, assisting with case planning, legal orientation and training, building relationships with community partners, and organizational evaluation for the Executive Director.
A proven professional, and the 2010 recipient of the Lewis & Clark Joyce Ann Harpole Attorney Award, Ms. Abraham is also a dedicated wife and mother of three.
